Description
WOODCLYN® is a new generation multi cultured preparation. This biological treatment technology is intended for clean-up polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the wood, which occurred when the wood has been impregnated with creosote or other oil products.
These micro-organisms use the hydrocarbons from oil as the source of food and thus decompose them into harmless substances – H2O and CO2. Technology lets to restore the primary condition of wood and thus achieve environmental requirements.
Recommendations
Woodclyn® is used to eliminate polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons or reduce their concentration in contaminated surface. Each client and each situation are different. Therefore it is very important to assess the contaminated object correctly and to
make a cleaning plan, essential parts of which are:
- Intensity of use of the preparation. In most cases the contaminated surface is treated 2 – 4 times a month. The intensity depends mostly on the origin and concentration of pollutants.
- Maintenance of proper moisture and pH. Water and suitable pH are required for bacteria to perform.
- Monitoring of biogenic substances. In most cases addition of biogenic substances is necessary in cleaning processes if oil product concentration is very high and the addition takes place 3-4 times during the whole treatment period. Usually these procedures constitute for a small part of the cleaning process.
- Maintenance of oxygen content. It is recommended to spread the wood chips with 30-40 cm thickness of the layer and thoroughly mix it 2-4 times per month.
Storage
WOODCLYN is ready for final use.
The product concentrate is frozen at -18 °C. After thawing must be used within 4 hours.
